Questions
The questions, answered properly.
Frames, the list, the Amazon hand-off, and the money questions people find awkward. If yours is not here, write to the address shown on the about page.
01 Do wheels, handles and pockets count toward the frame?+
Everything counts. A gate sizer takes the bag exactly as offered — wheels, raised handle, straps, and any pocket bulging with souvenirs. We compare the maker’s printed dimensions against the airline’s frame, biggest side against biggest side, and print the result on the card.
02 How do I tell if a bag fits my airline?+
Open the airline guide, or set the filter on the cabin bags shelf to your carrier and bag position. Anything that would not clear the frame drops out of the range, and the badge on each card counts the airlines it clears.
03 What happens when I press the hand-over button?+
Amazon.ca opens in a new tab with your items and quantities in its cart. From there it is a standard Amazon checkout — you pay Amazon, the order lives in your Amazon account, and returns go back through Amazon.
04 Does Clinesd take payment or store a card?+
Neither. There is no checkout, no account system and no payment field anywhere on this site. If you ever meet a payment form claiming to be Clinesd, it is not us — close it and let us know.
05 Where is the list kept?+
In your browser, on your device, in its local storage. It never reaches our servers. Clearing your browser data — or pressing the empty button on the list page — removes it for good.
06 I built a list on my phone. Will it show up on my laptop?+
No. The list belongs to one browser on one device, so it does not travel. Hand it over from the device you shopped on, or rebuild it on the other one — a minute’s work.
07 How does the ranking actually work?+
Amazon rating first, review count second. Then the honest filter: does the item clear the claims it makes? For bags that means real frame sizes. Commission has no vote — a fatter payout has never outranked a better-rated bag here.
08 How often are the airline frames re-read?+
The month on each airline page is when the numbers were last read against what the carrier publishes. Carriers tend to move allowances with fares rather than seasons, so compare that date with your booking — and if something looks off, write and we will re-read it.
09 The Amazon price differs from the one shown here. Which counts?+
Amazon’s. The figure here is the price as last seen, printed so you can compare at a glance. The price in Amazon’s cart at checkout is the only one that binds. Prices on this kind of gear move quickly.
10 Is this only about Canadian airlines?+
The twenty are the carriers flying out of Canada most often — Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, Flair, Air Transat and their transborder and long-haul company. The list grows; if your usual carrier is missing, tell us and it goes on the list.
11 Is Clinesd a shop or a magazine?+
Neither, exactly. It is a measured catalogue: a checked range with a size filter on top, and a list that hands over to Amazon. We do not write news and we do not sell anything ourselves.
12 Who do I contact about an order?+
Amazon, always — orders, payments, delivery and returns are all theirs. For anything about this site itself, the address shown on the about page reaches us, and we answer.
